412 wishes of children left without parental support - these are the statistics of this year's Christmas charity marathon organized by "Children's Morning".
In the presence of the students and teachers of the "Rīga", "Teika" and "Pļavnieki" branches of the State Social Care Center (VSAC) "Rīga", as well as the structural unit "Imanta" of the Riga Municipality Children and Youth Center (RPBJC), representatives of the Ministry of Welfare and the foundation "Bērnu rīts" supporters, on Friday, December 27 - in the atmosphere of a Christmas fairy tale at the "Kempinski" hotel, with songs by Markus Riva and Musiqq - the annual charity marathon was concluded.
Jaroslava Tomaševiča, head of the "Children's Morning" charity foundation: "This year we received twice as many letters as last year - 412 children's wishes, which came to us from 20 different orphanages throughout Latvia. Thank you to everyone and everyone who found time and opportunity in the daily rush to become a messenger of good deeds, proving that together we have strength!". At the same time, J. Tomaševiča expressed his satisfaction that every year more and more companies and well-known persons join the movement, who invite the public not to be prejudiced. Representatives of the Ministry of Welfare and Minister of Welfare Ramona Petraviča also expressed their support, who called on everyone to live in love, friendship and give warmth to each other not only at Christmas, but throughout the year.
Among the guests of the event were students of orphanages and their teachers, volunteers, well-known persons and other interested parties, who not only gave joy to the children, but at the same time, with their presence, also appealed to the public not to be prejudiced. At present, more than 130 children aged between 3 and 18 without parental support manage their daily lives in VSAC "Rīga" branches "Teika", "Pļavnieki" and "Rīga" and in RPBJC structural unit "Imanta".
